Safety and the environment is of vital importance to ICS. We employ safety throughout each step of our processes. ICS has a focus on safety that is employed through (1) automation of the mechanical process, (2) the use of new age surfactants, (3) minimal generation of waste & (4) proper disposal of minimum waste.

Automation of the Mechanical Process: Aside from the cleaning benefits that are a result of the automation of the cleaning process, the minimization of human activity provides a key safety advantage. In most cases human entry into the confined and hazardous areas of the tanks are limited to the initial setup of equipment and for the final rinse.

Use of New Age Surfactants: By utilizing the most advanced chemistry and technology, ICS is able to clean tanks with water based solvents that carry a neutral pH. Further, these surfactants used in conjunction with a vortex clarifying system, allows for the recycling of the water used with the solvents, thereby drastically reducing the water consumed, contaminated and disposed of in the tank cleaning process.

Minimal Generation of Waste: Despite being water based and recyclable, these new age surfactants are the most powerful on the market and are able to break down the “sludge” with amazing effectiveness. This results in less waste product to be disposed of, reduced costs in disposal and less harm to the environment.

Proper Disposal of Waste: The resulting concentrated solids that are removed are properly containerized in a portable unit (cuttings box or sludge box) for transport to the customer’s designated waste disposal facility or transfer station. An Exploration & Production Waste Shipping Control Ticket (manifest) is obtained from the customer to accompany the container to the proper disposal facility.

As part of every job, a pre-job safety meeting is held and attended by all personnel and designated boat personnel identified in the pre-job operations meeting. The scope of work and methodologies available are discussed based on current, known information. The hazards associated with each task are identified and a Job Safety Environmental Analysis is completed for each one prior to proceeding.

Again, safety is of utmost importance to ICS. We understand that any thing additional that we can do in terms of safety is an investment - an investment that we, our customers and the environment will all benefit from in the long run.
